Open call for the 10th Animation Film Project Development/Pitching workshop
Georgian Animators Association Saqanima and Film Studio Kvali, with the support of French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Institut Français de Géorgie, Tbilisi City Hall, GNFC – Georgian National Film Center and Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy its Film Market (MIFA), are announcing call for the 10th Animation Film Project Development/Pitching workshop. Project BLACK SEA Animation Workshop is supported by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the French Institute as part of the strategy for the export of Cultural and Creative Industries internationally.
We have great news- this year eligible countries are Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Türkiye and Georgia.
Our Partners are: Linoleum Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival Ukraine, Sofia Animation LAB Bulgaria, Compote Collective Bulgaria, Animest Bucharest Animation Film Festival Romania, #ANIM.IST Istanbul Animation Platform Türkiye, #ACI Association of the Creative Industries Georgia, NEF Animation France and CEE Animation Forum.
The deadline for applications is October 6th, 2024.
As a result of the competition, 10 short animated film projects (2 per country) will be selected by the international experts. 2 Mentors Corinne Destombes and Olivier Catherin from France will arrive in Tbilisi and from November 26th to 30th 2024, will conduct a 5-day workshop (working language English) for the authors of 10 selected projects. Workshop is free of charge.
As a result of the workshop, 5 best projects will be selected by MIFA experts to participate in the first Black Sea Partner Pitch to be hold in 2025 in Annecy. The travel expenses of the Georgian participant will be covered by the Georgian National Film Center and the Annecy Festival will provide him/her with accreditation. Another best project will receive one-month Fontevraud residency for the year 2025. And one more prize for the best project will be CEE Animation Forum 2025 free accreditation.
